This is my project devoted to Bergen, Norway. This year a city of Bergen celebrates anniversary: 950 years. Supposed to be many cultural events, one of them had to be in May in Arboretum in Milde (botanical garden which I love a lot).
I planned to join the party with my paper works and a Pop-up book with story about places I like.
Timeline:
February - got invitation for Big Event in Botanical Garden;
End of February - done mood-board and photo-references;
March, first week - start to practice with mechanisms and planning drafts;
March, second week - QUARANTINE - stay home, don't use public transport;
we, as well, were little bit sick entire family.
Online sketching - I used Google maps to draw missing buildings (actually, it's easier to say what was not missing: the only one page with brown house :) ) Drawing at nights, because kindergartens are closed and kid stays home at working hours.
The End: the Big Event cancelled, I'm done with the book in time (in May), self-isolation was gradually cancelled as well.
Посвященная дню города 3Д книга с картинками была героически сделана во время всемирного карантина. Это было Приключение!
До самоизоляции успела сделать только несколько фотографий из центра Бергена, -
домик с коричневой крышей и пейзаж вокруг него. Все остальное пришлось из Гуглмапс срисовывать.
Проект закончен вместе с карантином.
Мероприятие, где я планировала показать книгу, отменили. Мне конечно, обидно, но Бергену еще обиднее: ни туристов, ни культурных мероприятий, ни праздника - 950 лет со дня основания это не шубу в трусы запихивать!
